Went fishing to Zhinvali reservoir. Was rather hard to get to the water and find the place. Once I went off the major road, I took the road to Shatili, which hardly can be called a road . It used to be, I think, 4 lane asphalt road. But since it never or not in the last 20 years was repaired or even maintained, it became excellent off road testing place. I want to stress as always that my Niva showed wonders of off road ability. Finally when I got there it was about 12:00. There were no bites. I was using boils. Local guy told me to use weasels. I did not have any. I tried different places, here there, short, far, deep, shallow, near the creek, the quiet place. As always, the sun was high and I did not pay attention to that. As result my neck and hands are burned and my head hurts. I drank a lot water. I also had sandwiches. and I had a hat and sunglasses. Later I found some weasels digging with my shovel. Same result. At at 2 or 3 pm I felt that my head hurts and I saw no hope catching anything. At this critical moment I decided to go back and try completely different location. On the lake there was one boat with two (local) fishermen. I decided to get to the opposite side of the lake (it it about 11 km long and 0.5 km wide). I went back to Shatili road and went on north about 2 kilometers. There was a bridge over Aragvi ( I think they call it Black Aragvi) that I crossed and went west to the other side of the lake. Road was narrow and beaten. I saw three teenage boys and a horse. I went up and up for about 10 minutes and then i heard some terrible sounds from the bottom of my car. Going very slow, the sound almost went away, but with a little speed you could hear it. I thought it is either the transfer box, front axle or EAVJ (equal angle velocity joints:)). I did not know what it was but I knew if I get stuck here, the most remote point in my journey, I would stay here for a long long time. I immediately turned back and saw again three boys and the horse. At some horizontal place I stopped and looked under the car. The noise came from the small tree branch stuck around the central differential. I removed and the noise went away. I could have continued my journey back up and up but I was so scared that I decided not to, partly because I did not want those teenagers to see me going back and forth. I went down across the river and turned north towards Shatili. I hoped to find the place with those amasing panarama views and I also hope to get to alpian zone. I went on for about 10-12 kilometers but there was no vews or signs of higher altitude. I went back and back and back. On the major road to Tbilisi I reached 100 kmph speed. Not comfortable, the whole car was vibrating and the noise was unbearable. Afterall, it is an off road vehicle, not a roaster.
