Mamardashvili's paradox
Jun. 24th, 2005 02:25 amWhen I used to be young, smart and curious about things (other than money and young girls) I read a lot of Georgian philosopher Mamardashvili, who described the paradox of a guy who is in "necessarily impossible" position, meaning that he faces a necessity of impossible act (or impossibility of necessary).
Sometimes not writing is more precious than writing. Or not saying is better than saying. There are funny ocassions when you lie if you speak but if you are silent you are honest. The subject can change from true to false depending on whether you keep your mouth shut about it or not.
Example: Years later a guy meets a girl that he was secretly in love with in high school so she did not know. Would he reveal his feelings now?
The argument goes...
Well I wonder what You think.
